Hiroshima Museum of Art

A Japanese woman painter in the Meiji period. She was active in Italy with her husband, an Italian guest professor of sculpture, who had come to Japan for the Technical Art School and took her up when he went back to his home. There she studied the oil paintings seriously, and left many works to paint.
